China has again shut down all cinemas
Just yesterday ChinaBriefs revealed that more than 205 cinemas in Shanghai alone have received a permit to re-open again and that ticket subsidies were available for purchases via the Taobao App. Generally, over the past two weeks, hundreds of movie theaters in the China had begun to reopen. Now in a sudden change of events the Central Government has ordered all cinemas to shut down again. No reason for the policy reversal was given, but many believe the government is clearly worried about a potential second wave of coronavirus infections. Beijing's Film Bureau published a notice late Friday ordering all theaters to go back into shutdown.
